Jackson- 6 months old

Age 6 months
Weight & Length  16 lbs 11.4 oz (36%), 27 inches (65%)
Clothing size  Mostly 6-12, though still fits into a few 3-6 month outfits
Hair He continues to get more blonde hair coming in, especially on top
Teeth  Two on the bottom! We think there may be more coming in the near future!
Sleeping  Jackson sleeps from 7:00-8:00 pm until around 6:00-6:45 am with usually 1 and sometimes 2 wake ups. It was a little rough at first when we stopped swaddling him (just after 5 months) but now he is doing great sleeping just in a sleep sack without the swaddle.
Eating  Jackson continues to eat about every 2.5-3 hours but also has started solid foods! He will tolerate rice cereal, but what he really loves is the purees! He started with apples, then sweet potato, mango, carrot, peaches, and butternut squash.  He loves them all, especially mango!  We can’t wait to keep introducing him to more flavors.
Movement  Jackson is rolling like crazy these days.  We stopped swaddling him for sleep and now he is all over the place in the crib and on the floor.
Milestones  Jackson is now sitting up well. When he was just 6 months he needed some back up as he had trouble recovering when he tipped too far off balance.   He is getting better and better by the day.  Jackson also traveled on a plane for the 2nd time this last month and did great.  He is a pro at nursing to sleep on takeoff and sleeping until it is time to wake up and nurse for the landing.
Favorite toys/activities  He continues to love his jumper.  He also loves his winkle, o-balls, baby paper and soft blocks.  He is also starting to like some stackable balls from Grandma and Grandpa Nichols.  He is starting to like using a teething ring more too.  He has gone on a few rides in our new Bob stroller, and has even been comfortable enough to fall asleep.  He doesn’t seem to mind it, but I can’t say he loves it yet. Hopefully as the weather gets warmer and he doesn’t have to be so bundled up he will like it better.
Dislikes  Waking up at night.  Can’t wait to have our little buddy sleep through the night.  We also dislike viruses- and viral conjunctivitis. Enough said, ready for this cold season to be done so the runny noses go away!
Words & sounds   He has started babbling with more consonants, including dadadadada… Daddy is so proud!
What we love   Everything! 6 months is such a fun age.
What we don’t love  Illnesses-- we can’t wait for the viral respiratory season to end so we can have our healthy little baby boy back!
What we’re looking forward to next month Working on more sounds and starting to work toward crawling.
